Are Your Training Programs Up-to-Date?
It’s a challenge to keep up with the pace of the changing industry. This proposal for a new approach to a soft skills training program for technical industries will focus on what many studies and sources call “personal effectiveness” at the bottom of the pyramid which will benefit employees long-term, regardless of the technical changes they may encounter. They include team skills, work ethics, interpersonal communications, reliability, and problem solving. Skill categories like team work skills, critical thinking, and the ability to change or adapt are often perceived as more critical than math, reading, or computer skills, which can sometimes be more easily taught in school or on the job.
So how do we then bridge the skills gap by developing these “intangible” personal qualities that are critical in any business today and fundamental to first-rate performance and realization of overall business objectives?
