Benefits of the "Real People, Real Skills" Approach
There are many good interpersonal skills programs available in the market. Some programs have been developed by respectable commercial training corporations; some by individual companies or college and schools. Nearly all cover the same content. What are the unique benefits of Real People, Real Skills (RPRS)?
- This program uses language that is clear and simple. It’s free from business or academic jargon. There is limited reading required. And the writing which is required in RPRS is normally for the participant’s own use in their personal goals and notes.
- RPRS is a decidedly low-tech program. It is built on the dialogue with and among its participants. While we certainly have it available, there is no e-learning component and limited use of video clips or PowerPoint slides that provide little real-world application in this field. It is “live,” face-to-face interaction led by a facilitator with a background in the industry for which the training program was designed. We understand your employees, YOUR industry and we are committed to delivering a program based upon their learning styles, not ours.
- Efficiency is the primary focus when your operations are on the line. The brief time format of 90-120 minute sessions is particularly useful for manufacturing environments or any workplace where shift changes or time and coverage issues present real challenges for training. We are open to different training schedules, thereby eliminating one of the most significant barriers to getting your organization the skilled workforce it needs to be productive and profitable.
- Module topics in RSPS are linked, but highly flexible. The format allows for the facilitator and participants to adjust the schedule and spend more time on particular issues if they are critical to that group. This isn’t a program that you purchase in a box; it’s developed by our faculty with an appreciation for the people in the program.
