Description: This online course is designed to explore musical dimensions across a variety of the world’s musical cultures. The culturally diverse teaching practices in this course are based upon 1) an awareness and appreciation of different cultures, 2) awareness and appreciation of students’ own cultures, 3) a variety of curricular choices and styles of music learning for K-12 student’s, 4) expanding teaching methodologies, (5) community engagement, and (6) interdisciplinary experiences. A culminating on campus workshop will provide opportunities for students to demonstrate final unit projects.
