The term leadership has been used in many forums, in many ways, and based on various definitions. This course is designed to develop the student's understanding of the concept of leadership and to help the student both understand their leadership style and how to analyze leadership needs. Students will be able to be prescriptive of specific leadership styles as they relate to a given environment (e.g. business with hierarchical structure, organic type of business, professional atmosphere). To accomplish this, class time will focus on building a broad understanding of leadership theory and the key foundational pillars of leadership. Case studies and student workplace experiences will be used to apply theory to real world situations. 3 credits. |
